Fantasies and Variations on Opera Themes for Students. Step by Step.

One of the important abilities that a teacher has is the capacity and the necessity to inspire a continuous improvement of their students. The great interpreters and arrangers of the past were also frequently distinguished teachers – Auer, Spohr, Bériot, Hubay and others. After a general overview of their existing Fantasies on Opera Themes for violin, the 3-step compositional process will be proposed as a motivation method for students to auto-improve, research and gain lyrical qualities in their playing.
This lecture is designed to inspire young performers towards the composition of personalized fantasies or variations for violin. It aims to arouse interest among young violinists in recreating a similar contact with the vocal world as has been done in the past by some great violinists and virtuosos.
